2010 SCHEDULE. Hikes depart every Thursday at 10:00 AM. (all distances measured by GPS)

Apr 15: BOW RIVER, NORTH SIDE: Maranatha Church to Bowness Park – 15.5 km Meet in the parking lot of Maranatha Church at 2023 - 52 Street NW. 52nd Street is one way going south. Approach the church parking lot via Home Road and turn west (at approximately 21st Avenue N.W.) We will hike to Bowness Park.

Apr 22: FISH CREEK PARK WEST: Elbow Drive SW to Tsuu Tina reserve – 12.2 km Meet in the parking lot of the south end of Elbow Drive S.W. in Fish Creek Park. Hike will be west to the Tsuu T’ina (Sarcee) First Nation Reserve.

Apr 29: ELBOW RIVER TRAIL: Stanley Park to Calgary Canoe Club@Glenmore Park – 14.2 km Meet in the parking lot at Stanley Park by the outdoor swimming pool, on Riverdale Avenue and approximately 3rd Street S.W. The hike will follow the Elbow River upstream and then continue to the Calgary Canoe Club in Glenmore Park.

May 6: GLENMORE RESERVOIR: 37th Street & 66th Avenue SW to Yacht Club – 11.0 km Meet at the parking lot on the west side of 37 St. and 66 Ave S.W. Hike will be around the Glenmore Reservoir to the Yacht Club.

May 13: INGLEWOOD BIRD SANCTUARY to CARBURN PARK – 15.3 km Meet in the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary parking lot. Go east on 9th Ave. S.E. and turn south onto 23rd St. and the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. Hike will be to Carburn Park.

May 20: FISH CREEK PARK WEST: Elbow Drive SW to Tsuu Tina reserve – 12.2 km Meet in the parking lot of the south end of Elbow Drive S.W. in Fish Creek Park. Hike will be west to the Tsuu T’ina (Sarcee) First Nation Reserve.

May 27: NOSE HILL, NORTH SIDE: from14th Street & 64th Avenue NW – 9.0 km Meet at the paved parking lot on the west side of the intersection of 14th Street and 64th Ave. N.W. Hike will be around Nose Hill Park.

Jun 3: BOW RIVER, NORTH SIDE: Maranatha Church to Stoney Trail bridge – 15.5 km Meet in the parking lot of Maranatha Church at 2023 - 52 St. N.W. 52nd St. is one-way going south. Approach the church parking lot via Home Road and turn west onto 52nd St. (at approximately 21st Ave. N.W.) We will hike on the north side of the river to Stoney Trail bridge, then cross the river to Bowness Park and return.

Jun 10: MALLARD POINT @ FISH CREEK PARK to CARBURN PARK – 11.2 km Meet in the parking lot at Mallard Point at the northeast end of Fish Creek Park. Take Canyon Meadows Road and go east towards Bow River. Parking lot is north of Canyon Meadows Road. We will hike upstream along the Bow River to Carburn Park.

Jun 17: DOUGLAS FIR TRAIL: EAST from EDWORTHY PARK – 7.7 km Hikers from the south of the Bow go to the west end of Spruce Drive and drive down the hill to Edworthy Park parking lot. Hikers coming from the north of the Bow, take Memorial Drive/Bowness Road to Shaganappi Trail, turn south, and park on the north side of the footbridge. Walk over the footbridge and meet at the south parking lot of Edworthy Park.

Jun 24: FISH CREEK PARK EAST: BOW VALLEY RANCH to MALLARD POINT – 13.3 km Meet at the Bow Valley Ranch parking lot. Turn south off Canyon Meadows Drive and follow Bow Bottom Trail to Bow Valley Ranch. Hike will be north along the river to Mallard Point.

Jul 1: GLENMORE RESERVOIR: 37th Street & 66th Avenue SW to YACHT CLUB – 11.0 km Meet at the parking lot on the west side of 37 St. and 66 Ave S.W. Hike will be around the Glenmore Reservoir to the Yacht Club.

Jul 8: ELBOW RIVER TRAIL: Stanley Park to Calgary Canoe Club@Glenmore Park – 14.2 km Meet in the parking lot at Stanley Park by the outdoor swimming pool, on Riverdale Avenue and approximately 4th Street S.W. The hike will follow the Elbow River upstream and then continue to the Calgary Canoe Club in the Glenmore Park.

Jul 15: FISH CREEK PARK EAST: BOW VALLEY RANCH to HWY 22X and LAKE SIKOME – 8.0 km Meet at the Bow Valley Ranch parking lot. Turn south off Canyon Meadows Drive and follow Bow Bottom Trail to Bow Valley Ranch. We will hike east to the foot bridge at McKenzie Way, cross over the river, and hike on the east side of the river south to highway 22X then to Sikome Lake and back.

Jul 22: WEASELHEAD FLATS: from south end of Crowchild Trail SW – 10.2 km Meet in the parking lot at the south end of Crowchild Trail S.W. on the North side of Glenmore Lake just west of the Calgary Canoe Club. Hike will be west to the Weaselhead Flats.

Jul 29: GLENMORE RESERVOIR: 37th Street & 66th Avenue SW to Yacht Club – 11.0 km Meet at the parking lot on the west side of 37 St. and 66 Ave S.W. Hike will be around the Glenmore Reservoir to the Yacht Club.

Aug 5: FISH CREEK PARK: GLENFIELD PICNIC AREA to SIKOME LAKE – 12.0 km Meet at Glenfield Picnic Area in Fish Creek Park. Go south on Macleod Tr. toward Midnapore and just south of Canyon Meadows Dr. intersection, turn right on Bannister Rd.; follow signs to Fish Creek Park. Road travels under the bridge to Fish Creek Park; park at the second picnic shelter parking lot. Hike will be to Sikome Lake and return, using various trails in the area.

Aug 12: MALLARD POINT @ FISH CREEK PARK to CARBURN PARK – 11.2 km Meet in the parking lot at Mallard Point at the northeast end of Fish Creek Park. Take Canyon Meadows Dr. and go east towards the Bow River. Parking lot is north of Canyon Meadows Dr. We will hike upstream on the Bow River to Carburn Park.

Aug 19: FISH CREEK PARK EAST: BOW VALLEY RANCH to MALLARD POINT – 13.3 km Meet at the Bow Valley Ranch parking lot. Turn south off Canyon Meadows Drive and follow Bow Bottom Trail to Bow Valley Ranch. Hike will be north along the river to Mallard Point.

Aug 26: NOSE HILL, SOUTH SIDE: from Brisebois Dr NW – 9.0 km Meet in the parking lot on the north side of John Laurie Blvd at Brisebois Dr. We will hike on and around Nose Hill Park.

Sep 2: MALLARD POINT @ FISH CREEK PARK to MACKENZIE LAKE WAY SE – 10.1 km Meet in the parking lot at Mallard Point at the northeast end of Fish Creek Park. Take Canyon Meadows Dr. and go east towards the Bow River. Parking lot is on the north side of Canyon Meadows Dr. We will hike across the bridge over the Bow River and south to the bridge at Mackenzie Lake Way.

Sep 9: GLENMORE RESERVOIR: 37th Street & 66th Avenue SW to Yacht Club – 11.0 km Meet at the parking lot on the west side of 37 St. and 66 Ave S.W. Hike will be around the Glenmore Reservoir to the Yacht Club.

Sep 16: FISH CREEK PARK EAST: BOW VALLEY RANCH to MALLARD POINT – 13.3 km Meet at the Bow Valley Ranch parking lot. Turn south off Canyon Meadows Drive and follow Bow Bottom Trail to Bow Valley Ranch. Hike will be north along the river to Mallard Point.

Sep 23: ELBOW RIVER TRAIL: Stanley Park to Calgary Canoe Club@Glenmore Park – 14.2 km Meet in the parking lot at Stanley Park by the outdoor swimming area on Riverdale Ave. and approximately 4th St. SW. We will follow the Elbow River upstream to Glenmore Park and the Calgary Canoe Clubhouse.

Sep 30: NOSE HILL: from BERKLEY GATE N.W. – 9.0km Meet at the parking lot on the west side of the intersection of 14 Street N.W. and Berkley Gate. Hike will be around Nose Hill Park.

Oct 7: INGLEWOOD BIRD SANCTUARY to CARBURN PARK – 15.3 km Meet in the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary parking lot. Go on 9th Ave. SE and turn south onto 23rd St. SE. and Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. Hike will be to Carburn Park.

Oct 14: BOW RIVER, NORTH SIDE: Maranatha Church to Bowness Park – 15.5 km Meet in the parking lot of Marantha Church at 2023 - 52nd St. N.W. Approach the church parking lot via Home Rd. and turn west onto 52nd St. at approximately 21st Ave. N.W. We will hike to Bowness Park.
